BingoBoingo: mod6 et al, a form of the Pizarro site has been restored from the UY1 backup http://pizarroisp.net/
mod6: hey, neato! Thanks BB.
mod6: I'll be back around tomorrow, have a good night.
snsabot: (trilema) 2019-11-05 BingoBoingo: going to have to sleep before publishing Pizarro accounting. On the plus side receipts I had placed in a weathered envelope labeled "Keep" have finally been found in a pristine, unlabled envelope. There will be a paddling.
snsabot: (trilema) 2019-11-05 BingoBoingo: also stood up the Pizarro www to assist checking the archaeology which is at the stage for checking instead of further digging.
snsabot: (trilema) 2019-11-05 BingoBoingo: It will take a substantial interruption to not have the pre-closing statement published by midnight UTC
auctionbot: S#1063 O=1 LB=None E=2019-11-12 15:43:00.630180 (165h42) >>> selling items 1, 2 and 4 through 7 on http://www.loper-os.org/pub/bones/snsa_1_nov_2019.txt ; buyer to take possession at his own expense.

mod6: BingoBoingo: Hey, sometime in the next week or so, I'm gonna hopefully get you the details to send me the Foundation's server from down there back to me.
mod6: After I get you some shipping deets, we'll have to figure out what it might cost, approx. (just a heads up, overall).
BingoBoingo: mod6: The shipping on the Foundation server, exportdance included, is probably going to run ~700-800 USD
asciilifeform: mod6: i rec to find the exact # 1st. ( last i recall, w/ customs wank, it's just barely +ev to ship even a 1000 $ box )
mod6: jesus.
BingoBoingo: The foundation server also heavier and deeper than the dulaps, bigger pain to suitcase
mod6: well, ok that doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. hmm, think there is any way it could be sold for ~anything~?
asciilifeform: mod6: i was gonna offer a transport run to folx, but this only makes sense if ~exactly 4~ u of box, and prolly no longer +ev , unless someone wins auction on exactly 4
asciilifeform: ( meat-powered transport can move 4u of boxen + coupla kg of whatever for ~500 ea. )
BingoBoingo: mod6: Probably can be sold for something locally. It does have a dell sticker. If you want a server easier to get out of the country, you might try working out something with trinque. His is also a bit deeper than the dulaps but has two servers in one chassis.
mod6: Hmm.
BingoBoingo: mod6: Since you are going into winter... Mebbe come down here for a couple days of summer?
mod6: If you sold it for me, would you be willing to convert it back to btc through local sources, or however, and send it to me. You can take a cut for your pains.
mod6: BingoBoingo: I'd actually love to, not sure I can get away as is. I do wanna check out uy sometime tho.
BingoBoingo: mod6: I can do something like that. Anyways, give a bit of thought to taking a vacation where you happen to return to the US with a server or two and a mega 48 port switch.
mod6: Werd. If I'm gonna come down there tho, there's zero chance that I'll be lugging around shit with me.
mod6: It'd be a proper vaca, instead of a mission.
BingoBoingo: Well, you'd just have to lug it back in a checked bag.
mod6: It's not that important. One can buy hardware like that anywhere.
mod6: Anyway, let's think over the whole "selling it" proposal for a few days. It'd be a huge help, think about what you might want for a cut.
BingoBoingo: The big squeeze is I gotta do an international job search. I can committ to Uruguay through the end of the month to assist in pickups and shipping, but at some point I gotta move on.
mod6: *nod* I get it.
BingoBoingo: Or at least open myself to moving on
mod6: Ok well just holler when you have a number in mind, figure 10% or something?
BingoBoingo: Anyways, November/December are the better beach months in the city. By mid-January the cianobacteria will be back pushing vacations further east.
mod6: Eek.
BingoBoingo: mod6: 10, 15, 20 depending on how long sale at a reasonable price takes
asciilifeform: BingoBoingo: when do you think will have the piz auction ?
mod6: BingoBoingo: Sure. I'll try to do some maff to figure out what tbf paid for it, then can try to get a picture of what we could expect to get for it.
BingoBoingo: asciilifeform: Not far in the future.
mod6: (while keeping in mind, its 2yrs older then when we got it)
BingoBoingo: mod6: https://www.mercadolibre.com.uy/ is where I plan to market it, feel free to poke around there
mod6: oh, nice. thx for the link
BingoBoingo: https://listado.mercadolibre.com.uy/servidor-dell#D[A:servidor%20dell] << U$S is who they write dollar. $ alone is pesos
mod6: Yeah, just poking through there. Can you do me a favor when you have a moment, check the model number on there? I think it's a R620 or something.
BingoBoingo: mod6: I can try, but I don't remember seeing ver revealing labeling. Consider also many folks list their things there and let them site for months or years, it has to be priced to sell.
mod6: It should say right on the front of the box: PowerEdge R610 or something.
mod6: (This way, I can look at what the going rates are here for those, and there, then will price it to go. Can't be too much cheaper than the others, otherwise people will think something is wrong with it. But yeah, priced to move.
mod6: Ah, thanks!
BingoBoingo: Well, its used and off warranty. Do you remember how much RAM and what CPU it has?
mod6: Not off the top of my head, I'll have to do some digging on that stuff.
mod6: I'm pretty sure it has 2 xeons (don't know which models), and I think there might be 32Gb of ram. Looks like these are going for like $175-$200 USD up here.
mod6: So
mod6: the ones priced down there listed at listado.mercadolibre.com.uy are between ~5000 UYP and ~5900 UYP.
mod6: Seems hardly worth the trouble lo..
mod6: *lol.
mod6: Anyway, ima think it through, and try to find the specs here in the next day or so. Now, I gotta get that foundation statement written up (way behind on that), and get some of my blog articles reposted today.
mod6: Thanks for the instructions btw on how to setup wpmp from your blog. That looks to be helpful. I'll probably just stand up something like that somewhere so I can get wpmp going again later this month.
BingoBoingo: You're welcome
BingoBoingo: Just remember the server has to have some way to resolve some names or it'll never do pingbacks.
mod6: Sure thing. Thanks for the pro-tip/.

BingoBoingo: Also published to the temporarily resurrected Pizarro ISP site with added disclaimer on the top
whaack: BingoBoingo: Hmm I did not see myself listed as someone entitled to equity. I haven't run the numbers, but I paid for a year of hosting roughly six months before the collapse. http://logs.ossasepia.com/log/trilema/2019-04-08#1907676
BingoBoingo: whaack: ty, I'll dig and update
whaack: BingoBoingo: ty likewise
BingoBoingo: whaack: Aite, I see your invoice
BingoBoingo: Six months indeed.
whaack: BingoBoingo: looks right, thanks for the promptness
