snsabot: ave1 last seen in #trilema on 2019-09-14 09:02:58: except for removing configure scripts (for example)
shinohai: ./notify ave1 When you resurface, would like to ask a few questions regarding http://ave1.org/2018/building-gnat-on-musl/
btcinfobot: shinohai: Saved. I will notify ave1 when they next join the chan.
asciilifeform: neato shinohai . is there a genesis of this bot ?
asciilifeform: http://logs.nosuchlabs.com/log/asciilifeform/2019-11-06#1001548 << ty spyked . i think that makes for complete, atm, set.

shinohai: No genesis yet asciilifeform, still have cleanup to do (Is basically trinquebot + a modular system that doesn't involve pythonshit).
asciilifeform: shinohai: notbad. encouraged to genesis asap.
shinohai: I'd prefer to genesis when I have keccak for V in lisp, have been in discussion w/ spyked on cleaning up Esthlos V
asciilifeform: shinohai: imho good idea. i'd even join in, but presently occupied w/ setting up new & beefy machine, on which various essentials to go; and commissioning new run of FG .
shinohai: I'm excited for new run of FG, may also consider moving my www to asciilifeform's isp when sufficient coin is available to pay for year +
asciilifeform: shinohai: i have several new irons (that 'unblessed by the holy light, no one would touch!111') also in pre-production phase; expecting at least 1 of these for 2020 ditto.
asciilifeform: shinohai: principal defect, imho, of classical FG was the snail's pace output; ~impossible to e.g. fill a quality multi-GB onetimepad in reasonable time unless you have entire rack of'em.
shinohai: I have so much labwork to catch up on, allowed girls and sunshine to consume my summer though imho not a total waste :D
shinohai: Also have waded enough in heathen shitcoin things for now, if asciilifeform plans on continuing trb work, imma be there. (This was actually why I decided to close tit shop, wanted to spend more time on that, but was unceremoniously tossed out before had chance to delve in deeper.)
asciilifeform: shinohai: i'ma continue trb, why precisely wouldn't i, lol.
asciilifeform: shinohai: imho it doesn't urgently need any heavy work, tho. circa-2018 trb, w/ my last patches, worx to my satisfaction. what thing needs is moar noads.
asciilifeform: ( and specifically moar noades in proper backbone-hanging racks, rather than third world 'i can't believe it aint internet'. )
shinohai: Hopefully your new isp venture will solve the "where to put nodes" question ... my pipe @ home has degraded to near-unusable for trb.
asciilifeform: shinohai: there's a node there already as we speak.
asciilifeform: 205.134.172.4
shinohai: ^ nb
asciilifeform: ( and not yet 1nce fell behind since plugged in )
asciilifeform: which is interesting, given as it's the slowest box i've ever ran trb on since 'pogo'
asciilifeform: 2 x 1Ghz 'amd g series', 4GB/ram, 'samsung 860' ssd.
shinohai: I have not yet attempted to build on rockchip
asciilifeform: shinohai: me neither, but iirc there were problems when others tried. ( i did not attempt to replicate, as imho rk is not ideal trb machine, is handicapped by the usb3 storage interface )
shinohai: Formerly was running it on my AMD board, which sadly lost cap over the summer - this is also on list of things to replace/be done.
asciilifeform brb:teatime
dorion: I tried the rk trb build, problem is frozen boost needs to be patched to run on arm64. also ran into boost troubles trying to build with arm32 toolchain on rk. piz fell over before I managed to beat it into shape. going to write proper article of experience once I work through my current blocklog.
dorion: asciilifeform re usb3 on rk, further handicap is fstrim didn't work.
asciilifeform: dorion: didja ever retrieve your rk backup from BingoBoingo ?
asciilifeform: oughta be able to continue where left off, if you wish, on a desk rk, from this.
asciilifeform: dorion: afaik fstrim never worked on disks hanging off usb.
asciilifeform: (or, at the very least, on usb-'thumb'-type disks, rather than sata snake)
