xanthyos: special new years freeroll
xanthyos: the site is horrendous though, do not deposit
punkman: I don't really play tourneys n stuff
xanthyos: pokerstars is my favorite but i can't buy in from the US
punkman: yeah 20% tax on winnings is insane
punkman: in my case
thestringpuller: need gpg poker

thestringpuller: punkman is deedbot scrapped? punkbot was dope
punkman: nah it's coming back
thestringpuller is excited
thestringpuller: xanthyos: gribble is really centric. but also a goof keystore. thats why i like punkman's auth model that is sinilar to mpex
danielpbarron: gribble is for keeping the ratings that determine who may play at the same table as you
punkman: omg, my ISP is blocking 888poker
punkman: wtf is going on around here
punkman: "u r not allowed to gamble without us taking a cut, kthxby"
xanthyos: thestringpuller: what if we created a #bitcoin-assets pokerstars home game club and had a way that every account generated was tied to a gribble-authed account, and use it as both a gaming platform as well as a record-keeping ledger for off-blockchain track of wins and losses
xanthyos: pokerstars auth isn't as complicated as gpg so you might want to have a policy that each player has to prove themselves in irc before each game
xanthyos: and confirm they are the one playing that account
punkman: oh great new law also bans Visa from letting me use monies for gambling. when did I move to USA?
kakobrekla sorta has a bitcoin poker site in some drawer somewhere
thestringpuller: xanthyos: well gpg authing into the poker engine provides some level of non-repduiation

cazalla: xanthyos, why would you want to play poker against people from this room?

cazalla: xanthyos, i don't see the edge in playing with smart folk from here, at least for me personally, wot or no wot
xanthyos: i'm not looking for an edge
xanthyos: i prefer playing poker against better players
xanthyos: hard to get idiots to fold
cazalla: why would you want idiots to fold? you want them to stay in and put even more money in the pot
xanthyos: you'd think that
xanthyos: but if you have a bunch of people collectively drawing out on your hand it will be cracked
xanthyos: the hand never favors you enough to not want to be able to take it down when you want
xanthyos: poker's designed that way so there's always outs
xanthyos: unless you have the nuts
xanthyos: also i'd rather play against several great players than one shitty player who is running 5 bots on the same table
xanthyos: and wot integration is a way to make that less likely, not foolproof though
cazalla: i'd much rather play with people who play every single hand to the river than a bunch of folk with a VPIP of 10-15% even if they 'respect my hand' and fold
xanthyos: yes, if they are different people.
xanthyos: do you have a lot of experience playing online?
cazalla: not since 07-08
cazalla: don't get me wrong, playing with #b-a folk would make for an enjoyable game, just unlikely a profitable one
xanthyos: not to mention i think my bankroll is much lower than the average #b-a regular
cazalla: perhaps on account of wanting people to respect and fold to you?
