jurov: The part about returning donations isn't entirely offtopic. I'm open to discuss anything. But please here, and openly.
jurov: Oh and preferably in your own name.
asciilifeform: jurov: still awake? dun let this get lost in the wankstatic
snsabot: Logged on 2020-06-06 15:34:21 asciilifeform: jurov: your rk is ready. lemme know when tested.
jurov: asciilifeform: yes, on it
asciilifeform: ty jurov . ping me if encounter headaches w/ gentooism etc
jurov: asciilifeform: I'm running a gentoo toilet with full KDE and everything, I doubt rk could cause bigger headaches than that. ACK to not run emerge sync.
asciilifeform: jurov: apache already installed, before mounted on pedestal, errything else is left for you
jurov: asciilifeform: i'm in, in all looks well. Is there some sort of management/kvm? (not that I plan anything dangerous, just in case)
asciilifeform: jurov: it is possible to connect serial uart to these. but if you get to the point where need this, it is much faster to simply reimage the box. chances are -- you won't, at piz this was done iirc only once, when we suspected iron failure
asciilifeform: jurov: as for kvm, my rk kernel doesn't support the display plug ( to avoid blobism ) so nope .
jurov: That's fine. Thank you!
asciilifeform: i've only ever operated rk headless.
jurov: thimbronion: not exactly allergy to ruby, just that pulling another language into the ecosystem is something not taken lightly
jurov: but thx, at least it should be useful for reading and inspiration
asciilifeform: wholly unrelatedly, here is a simple script which hand-feeds a block on disk to a remote noad.
asciilifeform by nao has a bunch of these hand-tools, will genesis'em if there's interest
asciilifeform: used it today to feed a noad that fell behind, as they sometimes do
asciilifeform at some pt will again make stab at a sane sync mechanism in trb
