awt[asciilifeform]: Got a basic wire protocol going between client <-> station over a tcp connection using json. One step closer to being irc-free.
awt[asciilifeform]: Also one step closer to a real pest "logotron"

cgra: http://logs.bitdash.io/pest/2023-04-27#1025736 << it's just a loose vpatch. were you trying to press with a complete v proggy? if were, should use plain vpatch utility instead
bitbot[cgra|asciilifeform]: Logged on 2023-04-27 18:12:14 awt: cgra when I try to press your patch I get an error.
awt[cgra|asciilifeform]: cgra: yes I tried to apply it as a wild patch.
awt[cgra|asciilifeform]: part of the error message: 200~raised VPATCH.STATE : from hash doesn't match
cgra: awt: did you patch against 9971?
awt[asciilifeform|cgra]: cgra afak with v.py you just tell it the patch you want to target and it works backward from there and 9971 is defintely in the patches directory.
awt[asciilifeform|cgra]: cgra: in any cases I'm re-architecting - there will be station server you can connect to via a tcp socket that you can send json formatted commands to.
cgra: awt: i'm using diana coman's v-tools and its' vpatch utility. i'm not currently aware how v.py differs in the wild patch case. i used vpatch the same as i'd been using the linux 'patch' utility. including: perhaps need to use the '-p' parameter (ie. how much path prefix to strip when applying)
awt[cgra|asciilifeform]: cgra: this should make building clients much easier.
cgra: awt: nice, looking forward to know more in time!
phf: http://logs.bitdash.io/pest/2023-04-30#1025770 << there's no dash in the name vtools, and diana coman has no contribution to the project whatsover

cgra: ah, pardon my ignorance and/or loose expression
awt[asciilifeform]: My laptop is impervious to installations of python gui libs, it seems.
