asciilifeform: punkman: sept 2013 ?
asciilifeform: wasn't this the orig. 'climategate' lul ?
punkman: didn't even notice date, thought it was fresh lulz
asciilifeform: the michael mann lulzleak thing.
asciilifeform: ( someone leaked mailing list where the 'climate experts' were openly discussing how best to cook the #s, silence 'terrorist' critics, etc )
punkman: here's a fresh one https://twitter.com/BorisJohnson/status/1455076689772429313 "I’ll be asking world leaders to take action on coal, cars, cash and trees – to keep alive the prospect of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees."
punkman: ^cash !?
asciilifeform: but of course.
asciilifeform: plebes, per lizard 'new order' programme, are to work for mcfood, a berth in a barrack, and reddit acct. (and certainly not for terrorist-cash)
shinohai: No state-sponsored meth pipes?
asciilifeform: shinohai: only for schoolboys, lol
punkman: "cases" surge hitting hard this week, coincidentally tourist season ends 31 Oct
punkman: friend in Germany says flu still not coming back, but big surge in RSV
shinohai: thimbronion: Any tips on how to interact between peers using weechat? Am able to start blatta server, add peers to AT but ... nothing else.
thimbronion: shinohai: did you add a key and address for the peer?
thimbronion: oh oh well you said AT so that means you added an address
shinohai: when running /WOT or /AT it *does* show peer's name
thimbronion: And messages aren't coming through between peers?
asciilifeform: shinohai: is there a nat in the way?
shinohai: nah I open the port I'm using when was experimenting with former implementation. That one acted much like regular irc server but could /PRIVMSG a peer
thimbronion: shinohai: I'm gonna set up a server shortly and share a key with you.
thimbronion: discovering some bugs with the commands where they crash/error when there are no peers/addresses
shinohai: Got it thimbronion ... one sec and will add ya.
shinohai: I had the crash issues to earlier but figured my way through 'em
shinohai: *too
shinohai: also my version of weechat has a "key" command already, so was necessary for me to /quote before sending it to station
thimbronion: shinohai: same here
thimbronion: shinohai: we both use the same key
thimbronion: yeah that's a change from the previous versions
asciilifeform: shinohai: per spec, pair of peers shares a key
shinohai: anywho I got the key added with your address, etc.
thimbronion: bbiab got a short clownworld meeting
thimbronion: Not seeing anything from you shinohai. I'm in #pest. Also tried to dm you.
shinohai: I crashed my server - it seems that the db gets trashed if you UNPEER someone
thimbronion: I just saw a join message from you
shinohai: one sec just gonna nuke entire thing and redo
thimbronion: yeah just nuke the db
shinohai: Both db AND db-journal?
thimbronion: shinohai: yeah
shinohai: That seems to have fixed
signpost: thimbronion: fired up a blatta with my old alcuin config, lmk if I need to do anything else
signpost: seems like we might need to exchange new secrets given the size reqs, if so shoot me a gpggram at your leisure
shinohai: So I *did* figure out that db trashing only causes barf if you dont run both UNPEER and UNKEY right after one another. So far, seems fine.
thimbronion: asciilifeform: I think you have a test irc server still trying to connect to the test net we set up way back...
thimbronion: signpost: you'll need to run the /peer, /at, and /key commands to connect.
asciilifeform: thimbronion: lol possibly, i'ma check
asciilifeform intends to test thimbronion's thing in coming days
thimbronion: asciilifeform: excellent. I likely won't have time to patch the reported bugs until the weekend so beware.
