signpost: billymg: I split my machines between vintage/trustworthy items and "latest" shitware open source, depending on the role of the device.
signpost: asciilifeform apparently has more patience than I do for beating a newer GPU into a vintage gentoo, for example.
signpost even has some g4/g5 macs kicking around; one hosted pieces of deedbot for quite some time.

billymg: regarding operating systems, i searched in the logs for any mention of 'grapheneOS' and found none. my gut tells me it's not much better than off the shelf android, and perhaps worse because it gives you a false sense of security whereas with stock you're conscious of the fact it's already pwned
