adlai has next chapter of "adlai fails to use bitcoin", for when trinque returns ; tl;dr - deedbot deposit absent from !!ledger, yet appears to have correct amount and address
trinque: adlai: nah, just hadn't checked, and it isn't automated. wallet is meatgapped
trinque: feel free to pester me about it. I probably wont circle back to wallet improvements before this problem of using other people's shitty IRC servers is resolved.
asciilifeform: this ftr fixed. ty jurov .
snsabot: Logged on 2020-10-06 18:28:42 asciilifeform: imho moar worrisome is jurov's box that will soon have been down for week. somehow gigatonne of coin + asciilifeform donating hosting aint enuff to have 100% uptime tbf box ? ( can't help but ask, what's missing, that would suffice..? )
snsabot: (therealbitcoin) 2020-10-07 jurov: the www back up
snsabot: Logged on 2020-10-06 23:42:44 trinque: as for me, quite interested to put the past behind and get onto a p2p net, preferably of own construction.

asciilifeform: PeterL: i won't presume to speak for trinque , but in asciilifeform's conception, the obv. Right Thing would be an item which rides atop ipv4 in the same sense that the latter once rode atop telco grid; and w/ cryptographic routing (i.e. yer address is a pubkey) and ciphration (i.e. messages readable strictly by addressee) . all else -- implementation detail.

shinohai: Oh nice. Has anyone undertaken mirror of it yet?
asciilifeform: shinohai: would luvv to have proper (i.e. w/ his actual vtronics-to-html) mirror of item. but coad never published.
shinohai: Same. patch viewer is imho unparalleled in useful to me over the years.

thimbronion: gregorynyssa: Argentina is not a first world country.
gregorynyssa: thimbronion: that is news to me. how about Chile, in that case?
thimbronion: gregorynyssa: I haven't been to Chile, can't comment.
gregorynyssa: I fear that I don't know too much about South America altogether.
thimbronion: Argentina has a layer of architecture from an earlier time that distinguishes it from, say Costa Rica, in terms of civic achievement, but that time is long past.
gregorynyssa: thimbronion: yep, I do recall how in the early 20th century, Argentina had a period of heightened prosperity.
gregorynyssa: now that the Southeast Asian countries are approaching first-world conditions, I wonder if South America will follow.
thimbronion: gregorynyssa: maybe they'll achieve some Chinese version of first world.

BingoBoingo: Argentina is well on its way to Venezuela'ing, accelerated substantially this year.
BingoBoingo: Uruguay very first world in the quasi-asian sense
BingoBoingo: Peru a sort of 1970's or 1980's mini-China except their Maoists lost their war.
