spyked: http://logs.nosuchlabs.com/log/asciilifeform/2020-05-06#1011358 <-- ty asciilifeform, the http://btcbase.org/patches/shlex_removal.kv/tree/logotron/bot.py#L165 bit cleared it up for me. will try out your pill on my setup when I get some time
snsabot: Logged on 2020-05-06 13:07:31 asciilifeform: spyked, trinque : in case still not obv.: there are no 'magic' pythonisms used in the example bot. errything in'ere oughta be 100% portable to anyffin that sits on posix sockets.
asciilifeform: spyked: np. don't hesitate to ask/paste yer coad, if uncertain re how to make this mechanism go
BingoBoingo: Keybase is selling out to the Zoom video turd folks
shinohai: "I joined a zoom meet and all my shitcoins from keybase wallet got stolen. wat do?"
asciilifeform: lol i had nfi 'keybase' still existed...
asciilifeform: or for that matter what 'zoom' was (is?)
asciilifeform: ( loox to be yet-umpteenth 'skype' clone ? )
BingoBoingo: It's a sorta skype clone with more of a "group" video call focus. It's a turd, but it is the turd of the moment
asciilifeform admits that has not been tracking 'turd of the moment'...
thimbronion: As far as video turds go, I like the brady bunch format. Let's me stay conscious of who's there - also less disconcerting that random switching single person full screen based on audio.
BingoBoingo: Connection quality also pretty good in this part of the world
asciilifeform: in other noose, when testing Ext.GCD against the regular ch.15 kind, found a catastrophic bug in... the latter.
asciilifeform: 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFB, 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFEB comes out 0 (factually, it's 1)
asciilifeform: fat lotta good the folx who supposedly 'read' and then signed ch15, did.
asciilifeform: the hilarious bit is that algo 2 and onwards in ch21 are correct.
asciilifeform: prolly would've discovered this earlier, if any other ffaisms in fact depended on conventional gcd.
asciilifeform: ... interestingly subtle and lethal : only happens when actually requires 2*bitness steps to converge. and even there in 1/2 of the possible such inputs.
asciilifeform: ( could argue 'not exploitable', cuz result is that gcd returns 0 when oughta have returned 1, and 0 is only valid output for gcd(0,0) (and there, by convention.) so doesn't hose e.g. the prime gen demo. but still quite dumb mistake. )
BingoBoingo: jurov: the bitcoin foundation site seems to be missing the target directories the v.pl scripts pull from. Seems a 403 permissions error
