jfw: One question there is whether a *udev is in fact necessary. It is indeed "what the consumer has come to expect" but I've been ~fine without one.

jfw: dorion: re contacting Denys Vlasenko, might make sense to research busybox history & politics a bit first. He's not even mentioned in the AUTHORS file in my version. Rob Landley was the maintainer but left due to a licensing fight or some such.
