billymg[asciilifeform]: i think that's happened over a dozen or so times in bitcoin's history. always ended up a nothingburger because a) pools aren't miners, so if a pool misbehaves miners can redirect their hash power, b) there is a colossal disincentive to try to destabilize the network if the network is your bread & butter
