awt[asciilifeform]: New station has a 'page' command, accessible via the json api, which should make it pretty straight forward to stand up a www log reader that reads directly from the pest log.
awt[asciilifeform]: I suppose a 'search' command will also be necessary.
asciilifeform: awt: neato!
asciilifeform: ( 'logger that actually is a pest station' imho is a++. potentially ticklish in re exploitable bugs tho )
awt[asciilifeform]: asciilifeform: go on..
awt[asciilifeform]: Due to pest station having known IP since potentially same as the www?
awt[asciilifeform]: Unrelatedly was thinking desktop pest clients should allow for managing multiple pestnets.
awt[asciilifeform]: Could easily have a separate pestnets such as "alt.binaries.warez" in addition to the current ex-republic focused pestnet.
asciilifeform: awt: not about ip ( no reason you couldn't host a log on wholly separate ip, in fact asciilifeform directly suggests in old spec 'dun host anyffin on same ip as a pest station') but rather about importance of hygiene where one does have e.g. http server directly inside a station
asciilifeform: ( i.e. hosting a log is a departure from the dictum where 'the only machines a pest station converses with are peers' )
awt[asciilifeform]: asciilifeform: In this case, http server would connect to the station via a tcp interface, so technically not inside. Would indeed have to take care not to allow the www to send anything other than read ops.
asciilifeform: http://logs.bitdash.io/pest/2023-06-19#1027118 << no reason why not ( iirc discussed prev. as well )
bitbot[asciilifeform]: Logged on 2023-06-19 12:18:05 awt: Unrelatedly was thinking desktop pest clients should allow for managing multiple pestnets.
asciilifeform: awt: largely theoretical concern ( a log station hasn't any seekritz other than its peer keys ) but e.g. wouldn't want to accidentally enable the tcp log on a civilian station, etc

awt[asciilifeform]: test
awt[asciilifeform]: Noticing while testing new station that blatta is *possibly* somehow not responding to all GetData requests. Retries often succeed.
awt[asciilifeform]: perhaps udp socket getting filled up?
awt[asciilifeform]: dunno if that's even possible
