billymg: asciilifeform: which version of flask are you using on dulap? and for flask/psycopg2, do you install and manage through portage, pip, manually?
billymg: the only ebuild i see for flask is flask-0.12.2 and i don't see one in there for psycopg2
billymg: i'm not having any trouble getting these dependencies working, just wondering if you have a prescribed version or method of acquiring them that you recommend for dulap users
asciilifeform: billymg: iirc the current install used pip
asciilifeform: billymg: historically pythonisms via portage did not install reliably.
billymg: asciilifeform: ok great, pip was my first route as well, ty
verisimilitude: So this modified Gentoo is Cuntoo, right; how do they differ?
asciilifeform: this is probably a good time to point out that 1) asciilifeform did not make any attempt to preserve 'pip a la fossilized gentoo 2) when it dies, it dies, i will publish my existing set of logotron deps then, but no new py proggies
asciilifeform: verisimilitude: was draft name for trinque's 1st attempt at a musl-based gentoo.
asciilifeform: verisimilitude: 0 to do with my 'fossilized gentoo' at all, mine is a more modest effort to simply preserve the 2016 era glibc-based traditional gentoo and various packages.
verisimilitude: I've never installed Gentoo, and wonder if it would be worthwhile when my new laptop arrives.
asciilifeform: verisimilitude: if you've been getting along without it, probably not worthwhile
verisimilitude: I used GuixSD, but it broke, and I'm reluctant to install it over other options.
asciilifeform: i maintain it for own use, and to offer to my isp customers. because i refuse to use or support systemd-infected pseudolinux.
verisimilitude: I still use GuixSD on one machine, but it's subpar.
asciilifeform must bbl
verisimilitude: What other good options still exist?
