mp_en_viaje: http://logs.ossasepia.com/log/trilema/2019-10-26#1948372 <<< hey, one time this week, coming out of a cafe after a day's walk and gaze an etc, i spotted an old limo mercedes gold car and instead of getting a cab, i just paid the fellow to take me to the hotel.
ossabot: Logged on 2019-10-26 18:41:41 asciilifeform: presently dun know why there is a limo, or for that matter the similarly painted apc. they normally live in the parking lot, and each eats 6 spaces... i assumed they were props, engineless. evidently not
mp_en_viaje: the staff is by now inured anyway.
mp_en_viaje: now i dun even remember who the fuck is krankenwhatevs
mp_en_viaje: must be lobbes i guess huh

diana_coman: mp_en_viaje: yeah, it's lobbes' rebranded blog
ossabot: Logged on 2019-10-12 02:36:19 lobbes: ("blog.lobbesblog" was indeed clunky so I figured I'd take this opportunity to rebrand)
diana_coman: onth krankenwhatevs sounds even better to me.
mp_en_viaje: lol
asciilifeform still proofreading and correcting article, but the 2nd draft of price calculator, which includes all standard options for irons, is posted for those interested.
asciilifeform: (among other things, full BOMs for the irons (as per mp_en_viaje's crit) are given in the article.)
BingoBoingo: So, voting here consists of putting pre-printed "lists" in envelopes. No marking answers to dozens of questions, and folks are generally expected to bring their own damned lists. Motherfuckers are still standing in lines that have formed to do the voting!
BingoBoingo: This was routinely a sub-10 minute affair in my part of old country. These people manage to form lines with half hour to several hour waits to stuff envelopes with either their chosen lists to vote or sliced deli meats to annul their vote

mp_en_viaje waves
mp_en_viaje: check it out, now that i'm leaving finally fixed this shit up lmao
BingoBoingo: mp_en_viaje: Funny how that shit works out
mp_en_viaje: ikr
asciilifeform: hmm, feedbot wedged ?
asciilifeform: 2nd draft of 'costs', for those interested, posted.
asciilifeform: ( warning : looong. and 3rd i expect will be longer. )
asciilifeform finally fixed, i think, all the typos.
diana_coman: asciilifeform: do I understand correctly that you do not plan to actively expand that operation? ie you are doing there contingency planning for the unfortunate case that you have too many customers to fit in the current rack rather than business plan to get customers, is that it?
asciilifeform: diana_coman: all of the expansion plans for which i have concrete #s, rather than 'wishes', are summarized. but 1st priorities are 1) service asciilifeform 2) service l1 (such that want in) followed by 3) all other forms of expansion.
asciilifeform: diana_coman: as i specifically wish to operate with no external capital, this is the only possible scheme.
diana_coman: asciilifeform: the $ is fine, yes; the q is how/whether you actually plan *anything* to get new customers?
asciilifeform: diana_coman: this is strictly re the ~number~ of subscribers. if you were speaking of ~physical~ expansion, the plant could be doubled in size overnight if someone were to put in an order for such a thing.
diana_coman: asciilifeform: no, my question is: are *you* going to actively look for that someone to put in an order for such a thing or are you just waiting for them if/when they come?
asciilifeform: diana_coman: i do not currently have a concrete scheme for 'expand l1, l2' that would rise to the level of a plan. (and i've permanently 0 interest in servicing heathens, i.e. those not in wot at all.)
asciilifeform: diana_coman: presently i look among the l1. (unsurprisingly no one yet hurried to buy 20u or 2kwatt).
diana_coman: rise to plan or not, at least a draft to publish there, maybe it gets some feedback to make it rise slowly?
asciilifeform: diana_coman: my focus to date has been 1) obtain and assemble the basic physical plant; 2) offer service to l1.
diana_coman: I know.
asciilifeform: a 3) 'expand the republic' presently takes more brain than i have, to offer concrete idea. but will write on the subj, as soon as i have half a clue (and ftr, imho sending spam is ~not~ a practical plan for expanding republic.)
asciilifeform: ftr i do not in fact disagree with mp's 'expand the republic, you maggot' . but i also have a principled objection to selling things that dun physically exist, and rely on unknowns in order to come into existence. ( recall, i refused to offer FG for pre-order until it was in fact rolling off conveyor at factory.) hence i built multiphase rocket, that does not ~hard-depend~ on a rate of expansion in order to stay alive.
asciilifeform will bbl, deadly tired.
BingoBoingo: Polls are closed. In the past 40 minutes all the flags attached to cars disappeared. Folks walking around with flags are similarly gone
BingoBoingo: I did see the economist identifying candidate riding around the neighborhood in a compact car followed by a motorcycle news team
