crtdaydreams: it's as you describe, but if I'm reading this right some applications use that same mechanism to send signals to other running processes
crtdaydreams: on a single user offline machine, sure it's probably fine, the performance gains you get from dedicating another locked down buffer for gui apps to scrape is not gona be huge
crtdaydreams: but it definitely doesn't seem "safe" in the sense that any app can just start blasting keyboard input to any other app *in theory*
